Long abused, PSG handball ended up gaining the upper hand in the second half over Aix (37-32), Saturday evening, at Coubertin.

PSG preserved the essentials on Saturday evening by beating Aix (37-32), a victory which allows the Parisians to join Montpellier at the top of the Starligue standings, before moving from Nantes (3rd) to Nîmes on Sunday.

Sign of a complicated meeting, PSG never led to the score between the 8th (6-5) and the 35th minute (22-21).

Nothing was easy for the Parisians then, who were led by two goals at the break (17-19) by an unimpressed Aix team and carried by their goalkeeper Alejandro Romero, author of 10 saves.

Fortunately for Luka Karabatic's partners, they were able to rely on Elohim Prandi (10 goals) and Kamil Syprzak (9).

The giant Dainis Kristopans also contributed to the success of PSG with 8 goals scored.

Above all, PSG made the difference in the second act by solidifying their defense and imposing their physical superiority.

“This is where (physically) we sinned in the first half, admitted Luka Karabatic at the microphone of beIn Sports.

We came back with another commitment and another aggressiveness, we recovered a lot of balls and we were able to make the difference.

The first half was a day without, we had to draw on our resources, it's not easy.

“Physically, there are sacred machines in front, smiled the Aixois Nicolas Claire.

They kept up the pace the whole game, not us.

“Elo” (Prandi) is the best player in the championship at the moment.

Opposite, they are all 15 kilos and 10 cm more, it's a contact sport, it counts.
