Poland's football association has decided to fire the bodyguard it hired for Robert Lewandowski after it turned out he was a member of a neo-Nazi gang.

Dominic C.

Nicknamed "Grocha" (so according to the media in Poland), he was the security man who was attached to Lewandowski every time the team gathered in recent months.

He was supposed to go to the World Cup in Qatar, but was fired after a few stormy days.

On Wednesday, it was revealed in the Polish media that the same "Grocha" is a convicted felon, with a past in a neo-Nazi gang that, among other things, also engaged in solicitation of prostitution.

The revelation caused an uproar, but when the Football Association held a press conference on Wednesday, those present declined to comment on the affair.

The association's spokesperson even announced a blanket ban on raising questions on the subject.

His advisor referred the journalists to the association.

Since the disclosure, media in Poland began to receive materials and testimonies from people who knew "Grocha".

The publications gathered and yesterday the chairman of the association, Cesari Kolsha, broke his silence and took responsibility for the hiring of that person. He also added, of course, that he did not know about his past. Kolsha went on to say that this is not a security guard, but someone who "helps with the logistics and is very loved by the coach of the national team And

the players."

Lewandowski's close friend and advisor, Tomasz Zawislak, issued a statement on behalf of the striker: "Robert will not participate in the discussion about people hired by the Polish Football Association.

His job is to play.

The handling of the matter is in the hands of the association alone, and it is the one to which questions should be directed."
