Impressive: Ex-Bnei Herzliya and last season's player joins the Reds • Team coach Danny Franco: "From the position of a winning team, we chose to prefer the chance to the risk and strengthen ourselves with color"

Mission Statement.

Chinano Onwako, ex Bnei Herzliya and last season's player, signed today (Sunday) with Hapoel Tel Aviv.

The American center (26, 2.08 m) won the player of the season title last season after averaging 15.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game in the Herzliya uniform.

He started the season in the Italian Dynamo Sasari Bemedia scoring 12 points and 7.3 rebounds in 21.6 minutes on average.

Team coach Danny Franco: "As a winning team, we chose to prefer the chance to the risk and strengthen ourselves in the paint with Chinano. There are probably not many players we would take at such an early stage of the season and in the near term we face a difficult task of adjustments, connection and chemistry, But Chinano's availability presented us with a great professional and mental challenge. We will benefit from the move in the long run."

Club chairman Rami Cohen: "This is without a doubt one of the signings we really wanted. Onuaku was a player we wanted in the summer, a player who meets our professional requirements and can definitely give us added value. Still, it is clear to us that we are challenging the phrase 'the enemy of the good is The best' and that is the difficult part of the current decision. We will do everything to take care of his integration without harming the chemistry achieved in the group."
