The Taliban leader in Afghanistan, Haibatullah Akhundzada has ordered the full application of Islamic law which provides for public executions, stonings, floggings and mutilations for "thieves, kidnappers and subversives" (ANSA)

The Taliban leader in Afghanistan, Haibatullah Akhundzada, who has never appeared in public since taking power in Kabul last year, has ordered the full application of Islamic law which provides for public executions, stonings, floggings and mutilations for "thieves, kidnappers and subversives" .

This was announced by the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, Zabihullah Mujahid, following the meeting of the Taliban leader with a series of judges.


"In those cases where the conditions of the law are met, this must be applied, it is the Sharia law and my command, which is mandatory", said Akhundzada quoted by the spokesman.
