Friends for thirty years –and at least until next Saturday the 26th–, the Argentine writer Martín Caparrós and the Mexican Juan Villoro will maintain a correspondence during the World Cup in Qatar in EL PAÍS.

A one-month tour in which the two authors, passionate about football, will exchange opinions, comments, kickbacks and the occasional goal letter by letter.

“Football has that privilege: it makes almost anything else improbable.

It makes us, to begin with, improbable ourselves.

It makes us other, it transforms us.

Much has been said: it allows us to be children for a while.

I am and I do not agree ”, Caparrós writes to Villoro in the first of the letters, which will be published this Saturday.

Every day of the World Cup, as soon as the games are over, around 3:00 p.m. in Mexico (22 in Spain), readers will receive the letter from the author of

, which they will see again, as already It happened in 2010 at the World Cup in South Africa, when they had a similar correspondence, that the ball, the ball, also knows a lot about friendship.
