Christmas holidays: why the start of the school year is postponed to Tuesday January 3, 2023

The Christmas holidays will last longer this year since the start of the school year will take place on Tuesday instead of Monday, for reasons of “road safety”.

French students will have an extra day off this year.

The start of the school year, at the end of the Christmas holidays, will thus take place on Tuesday January 3 and not January 2.

To justify this decision, the Ministry of National Education invokes

The procedure for drawing up the school calendar
