(ANSA) - MOSCOW, DECEMBER 09 - Russian opponent Ilya Yashin was sentenced to eight and a half years' imprisonment by a Moscow court for denouncing the offensive in Ukraine.
Ipm had asked for nine years' imprisonment.
This was reported by the Interfax agency.
The indictment refers to statements about the massacre of civilians in Bucha, Ukraine, made by Yashin during a live broadcast on his Youtube channel.
Yashin, 39, pleaded innocent in court and repeatedly demonstrated against the war during the trial.
