According to the European Court of Justice, despite the monopoly of the two organizations that manage European and world football, they are well behaved and deserve to be the ones to approve new competitions - or not

Although the headlines on the subject are not many anymore, today (Thursday) the European Court of Justice published its opinion on the fight between FIFA and UEFA in establishing the Super League, and it clearly leans in favor of one of the parties.

The lawyers who examined the matter gave a resounding slap to the hopes of the Super League leaders, when they determined that FIFA and UEFA have the authority and power to decide whether new international competitions, such and such, will be approved.

In the opinion it was stated that FIFA and UEFA are monopolistic bodies, but also those that are well managed and leave the door open to all associations and teams and represent them all.

On the other hand, the Super League is claimed to be an organization that advocates a closed club policy, and the court ruled that it cannot dance at two weddings - meaning to establish its own league and that the teams that join it will also participate in FIFA and UEFA events.

UEFA announced with great satisfaction: "European football is united against the Super League." FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who is in Qatar for the World Cup games, has not yet commented on the decision.
