El Salvador ends the year under an exception regime.
Since it came into force – last March – more than 60,000 people have been detained, according to the Government.
This measure has been applauded by many in the Central American country, but criticized by others, especially international organizations.
According to the authorities, it has facilitated the reduction of homicides.
