At least one protester was killed in anti-regime protests in Iran that continued today.
The victim, a 22-year-old boy, Borhan Elyassi, was allegedly shot dead in the Kurdish city of Javanrud.
The rallies were held in several Iranian cities, including Tehran, Semirom, Najafabad, Zahedan, Marvdasht, Javanrud, Izeh and Kermanshah.
Videos circulated on social media show security forces firing tear gas and bullets at protesters in the western cities of Kermanshah and Javanrud, injuring some people.
Security forces closed the streets of the Kurdish city of Javanroud, arresting a group of protesters and banning others from attending ceremonies at the city cemetery to mark the 40th day of the killing of 7 protesters by security guards .
People shouted slogans such as 'Death to the dictator, death to (leader Ali) Khamenei' and 'Mullahs must leave to rebuild Iran'.
In Najafabad, police clashed with protesters chanting: "Our dollars are in Lebanon, our youth are in prison," referring to Iran's support for Lebanese Shia militias Hezbollah.
