The recipe of the referee designator, Gianluca Rocchi, is to shorten the breaks on the field to increase the real playing time of the matches.

A trend already experienced in the recent World Cup and which Rocchi comments thus, at the International broadcasting center of Lega Serie A, in Lissone (Monza and Brianza): "We are the European country with the highest recoveries, but also at the top of effective time, 54 minutes like the Premier League" and with two minutes on average below the Champions League.

"We have to speed up the resumption of the game, the goal kicks, in part the corner kicks. In certain free kicks, even 2 minutes are lost between the referee's whistle and the resumption of play."
