(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 01 - The Modàs had been missing from the Sanremo festival for a while.

The last time was 10 years ago, with the third place of Se si could die (in 2011 they came second with Will arrive paired with Emma).

Now the band led by KekkoSilvestre is back on that stage for the fourth time, with the song "Lasciami" and to celebrate 20 years of career.

And they do it in perfect fashion style, without winking, or music, at the new fashions.

"We have never compromised to keep up with the times, with what the market requires - says Kekko -. There will be people who, when they find us in our pop-rock guise, will be happy. It is true that there are the new generations, but there's room for us too."

For the return to the festival, Silvestre has decided to get naked and to talk about his depression, which he has been suffering from for some time.

"At first I was ashamed to talk about it, I felt hypocritical. I had everything, why be depressed? Then I realized that it's a disease that doesn't look anyone in the face and that talking about it would have helped me. Going back to the Ariston with a song of love would have been easy, but a truer song than this I could not have written".

To help him face his frailties was his family.

"The push was especially given to me by my little girl. I didn't want to be the example of someone who lets himself go".

Twenty years of career, and ten of Gioia, the album that marked the turning point in their career, are also an opportunity to look back.

"Every year that passes and that you get older you take stock of your life, inevitably. Mine are all positive. In the past we have reached peaks that we will never live again - explains the singer who boasts a diamond album with lucid awareness - but we have always worked at important levels. There is a bit of nostalgia, but we still make records, tours in arenas, we have our hard core that doesn't abandon us. The important thing is always to get back into the game".

On the evening of the duets, Modà will sing with Le Vibrazioni "Come to me".

From 27 March they will be on tour in theatres, accompanied for the first time by an orchestra.
