The solidarity group “Hands off Syria” renewed its demand to lift all unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria, stressing that the unjust blockade on the Syrian people violates basic human rights and all international laws.
In a statement delivered to the European Commission office in Vienna today, the assembly said: “The sanctions are not only a violation of international law, but are a war crime and a crime against humanity. Just end the siege of starvation.”
The assembly called on the West to move away from double standards and change its foreign policies, because Western politics and diplomacy can no longer hide behind hollow phrases, pointing out that the European Union does not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize because it imposes sanctions on the Syrian people, noting that those who support the sanctions encourage mass killing. to the civilian population.
The statement added: In the first few days of the earthquake, there were no attempts by the so-called international community to deliver aid to the country, while the only aid came from Arab countries and friends, and even after that the West's support focused exclusively on areas controlled by terrorist organizations. his affiliate.
