In response to the initiative launched by the Damascus Chamber of Commerce to build partitions on the structure for the earthquake-affected people in Lattakia and Aleppo, the value of merchants' donations has reached about four and a half billion pounds so far.

In a statement, SANA received a copy of it, the Chamber expressed its thanks to these merchants for what they have provided, stressing that what they are doing is evidence of their genuine patriotism and their high sense of social responsibility towards their fellow countrymen.

In its statement, the Chamber said: Gratitude and thanks give a moral incentive that encourages others to promote good deeds and provide assistance.. From this understanding, the Chamber extends its thanks to the merchants for what they have provided and are presenting to make this initiative a success.. to contribute with every humane and loving spirit by extending a helping hand to their families in the affected areas.

During an extraordinary meeting about a week ago, the Chamber pledged to initially build two partitions on the structure for the earthquake-affected people in the governorates of Aleppo and Lattakia, calling for the Chamber to have an important role in supporting those affected by the earthquake, provided that it communicates and invites merchants from various sectors to contribute financially, each merchant according to his capabilities.

The Chamber concluded its statement by saying: What you have kindly done is one of the proofs of your genuine patriotism, and confirms your high sense of social responsibility towards our beloved countrymen who were affected by the earthquake that hit the Syrian lands.. It is a bright picture of the role of Syrian economic activities in crises at all levels. .
