According to the police in Neuwied, a three-year-old fulfilled this childhood dream and locked her mother out around 5 p.m. early Sunday evening when she was busy on the balcony.
The 28-year-old woman could not get the child to open the balcony door again and had to ask passers-by for help – her daughter was alone in the apartment.
The police arrived, and the officers managed to open the apartment door with a "snare wire" - a multiply folded wire of the kind used by emergency locksmiths.
In this way, the locked-out mother could be freed from the balcony.
According to the police, the child was "well": It was watching videos on a smartphone in the bathroom.
