TRIESTE - A group of cardboard penguins of different sizes appeared this morning on the steps of the historic Acquario Marino.

It is the new work of the so-called "Banksy from Trieste", an artist who donates painted panels to the city, leaving them at night in various areas, sometimes dedicating them to missing people, as happened with Giulio Regeni or Nadia Toffa, other times, like today, simply inspired by a place in Trieste and its history.

The penguin Marco lived in the Aquarium for a long time, from the 1950s to the 1980s, a long-lived specimen, who entered and left the structure in total freedom and who had become a sort of mascot.

The Municipality of Trieste recently decided to dedicate a sculpture to him, which will soon be placed right in front of the building's entrance.

Curiosity, a few steps from the point where the penguins have been placed is the exhibition of the real Banksy, entitled "The Great Communicator", housed in the Salone degli Incanti.
