How France is preparing for the senior boom

DECRYPTION – While the executive promises an old age plan at the end of May, the majority deputies are working on immediate concrete measures.

While France now has 15 million over 60s, there will be 20 million in 2030 and nearly 24 million in 2060. The number of over 85s will rise from 1.4 million today. to 5 million in 2060.

To deal with this demographic transition, the Minister of Autonomy, Jean-Christophe Combe, presented on Tuesday the conclusions of the National Council for Refoundation (CNR) on "aging well", launched in October by the President of the Republic.
