Increases for some typical products consumed at Easter, from meat but above all, for eggs with +29%.

Thanks to the usual growth in demand recorded in the weeks leading up to the festival, the prices of lambs for meat increased by 5% compared to a year ago (comparison with the week preceding Easter 2022).

A similar increase was also recorded for rabbit meat.

The annual increase for eggs is decidedly stronger, as an effect of the increases in the first two months of the year due to a reduced availability of product and the good trend in demand.

From the price lists of the Single National Commission Eggs for consumption, the product from free-range farms this week stands at 2.44 euro/kg. On the other hand, the prices of two products used in many recipes are down sharply compared to a year ago Easter: butter (-38%) and 00 flour (-9%), as a consequence of the decreases in the respective raw materials, milk and soft wheat, both in Italy and on foreign markets.
