REPORT - On April 7, the luxury house inaugurated its 20th leather goods factory in Louviers, Normandy. A positive-energy architectural feat that houses the first horse-riding workshop, outside the Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

The industrial zone of Louviers is not the sexiest.

But all you have to do is pass through the brick arches and enter the open-air courtyard to be transported to a universe of beauty, humble in its industrial codes and ambitious in its quality standards (in all respects).

Perhaps one day the companies around will take inspiration from it to rethink this no man's landarchitectural such as we see throughout France between town and country.

It is therefore here, seven kilometers from Val-de-Reuil, which has housed a Hermès workshop since 2017, that the house has set up its twentieth leather goods factory.

The number is symbolic, as are the places: first industrial site labeled E4C2 in France, first saddlery workshop outside Paris since the creation of the house.

However, “Louviers” took some time to come out of the ground: the pandemic, telework, the shortage of wood and then, these preventive archeology excavations which brought to light more than 3000…
