(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, APRIL 14 - Jack Teixeira, the 21-year-old Massachusetts National Guard airman suspected of being the Pentagon leak leak, has been charged in Boston court with violations of the Espionage Act, in particular with unauthorized possession and transmission of information of national defense, as well as the unauthorized removal of classified information and defense materials.


   He faces up to 20 years for each of the two separate counts he is accused of.

For now, the judge has decided that you'll remain behind bars at least until next week's hearing.


    It was the Justice Department that requested that JackTeixeira remain detained during the proceedings.

The judge believes he may have a public defender.


    Meanwhile, it emerged that the young man had the clearance for top secret documents since 2021, when he was 19 and had been in the National Guard for 2 years.
