Ehpad: the still open wounds of Covid-19

While visits are still restricted to these establishments, a mission to “restore the bond of trust” has been launched.

Loneliness of the dying, impossible mourning, sick people deprived of visits, "bunkered" nursing homes...: three years after the Covid-19 crisis, the trauma of the deprivation of ties for the elderly and their loved ones remains acute.

Especially since some establishments continue to impose, even today, restrictions on visits.

In this still painful context, the Ministry of Solidarity has launched a mission responsible for making proposals to restore the link between people received in nursing homes, families and health professionals.

It is also a question of

“participating in honoring the memory of all the people who disappeared during the Covid, with regard to their family or friends”

“It will be a mission of listening and remembering, but also of collective intelligence,

specifies Jean-Christophe Combe, the Minister of Solidarity
