(ANSA) - ROME, 03 MAY - After 3 months of reductions, the gas bill on the protected market is growing again: for consumption in April it marks +22.4% compared to March.

The increase, despite the presence of a slight decrease in the average wholesale methane price last month, is mainly due to the reduction, provided for by the recent 'bill decree' (Legislative Decree 34/2023), of the discount component Ug2, used in the last year to consumer benefit to offset the increases.

This was announced in a press release by Arera, the public regulatory authority for energy, networks and the environment.
