Jean-Paul Belmondo's grandson plays Roger Vadim in Bardot, the France 2 event series, signed Danièle and Christopher Thompson. He lent himself to the game of our “autopromo” interview.

In

Bardot

, 29-year-old Victor Belmondo aptly embodies the young director of

And God… Created Woman

, the first love of the sex symbol of the 1960s, played by Julia de Nunez.

On the set, he met Yvan Attal (in the role of producer Raoul Lévy), who offered him to play the son of Guillaume Canet and Maïwenn in his next film.

On video,

"Having an anxious nature, playing the epicurean is liberating"

My news?

I play Roger Vadim in

Bardot,

whereas I passed the tests to play Jacques Charrier.

I didn't know much about the director of

And God Created Woman,

but, fun fact, I started my acting career at 10 years old alongside his son, Christian Vadim.

My character ?

I loved embodying this man ready to do anything to enjoy life and be happy.

Having an anxious nature, playing the epicurean is liberating.

My attitude on set?

I had a lot of fun with the group of actors, in particular Noham Edje and César Chouraqui, respectively Jean-Louis Trintignant and Christian Marquand.

And as if reality went a little beyond fiction, I was naturally very protective of Julia de Nunez, who plays Bardot.

It's her first role, she had important scenes to shoot and I paid attention to her.

Is talking about me on promo a chore?

No, that's part of the job.

Being very modest in the private sphere, it can destabilize me to tell myself, but I can't talk about chores.

“I can always let myself be surprised by an original question about my parentage”

A question that I dread or that I do not answer?

I answer everything.

Of course, I feel like I've answered the same questions about my grandfather two hundred times, so much so that my answers have become mechanical, but I can always be surprised by an original question about my parentage. .

Any misunderstanding about me?

I understand people who think the path has been easier for me, but I know my trajectory and I know the rejections I've faced, so I couldn't say it's been more obvious.

On the other hand, I will never say that it was harder than for another.

Gastronomy remains my greatest pleasure with the cinema

Victor Belmondo

The last time I was proud of myself?

On a set, that never happens: I always tell myself that I can do better.

If I get a role during a meeting with a director or a casting, it's a little different, I don't feel pride but rather great joy, like recently, when Gaël Morel told me that took me in his next film.

And finally, in life, I was very proud to improve my half marathon time!

What do I think when I look in the mirror in the morning?

I think about what I'm going to eat at noon... I'm surrounded by chefs at home (

his mother,

Luana Belmondo

, and his brother Alessandro are both chefs, editor's note

), and gastronomy remains my greatest pleasure with cinema !

What am I going to do after this interview?

I'm going to get the pasta I ordered for my paternal grandmother's birthday.

I joined her in the Camargue to celebrate her 89th birthday with her.
