Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Hossein Abdollahian spoke in recent hours with Islamic Jihad Secretary General Ziad Nahaleh and Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas' political bureau. This was reported by the Lebanese Al-Mayadeen network.
Following the assassination of the sixth senior Islamic Jihad operative, Nahala said in a telephone conversation with the Iranian minister that "the situation on the ground of the resistance is excellent." He also stressed that the "steadfastness" would continue until the conditions demanded by the terrorist organization in the ceasefire negotiations were achieved. Earlier, Haniyeh told Abdellahian that "the resistance is united."
Earlier today, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said in a speech in Beirut: "We are in regular contact with the resistance leadership in Gaza and will not hesitate to provide assistance whenever the responsibility for this requires."
Meanwhile, sources told the Saudi Al-Arabiya network this afternoon that Israel had rejected an Egyptian proposal to start a ceasefire this evening.
