One swallow does not make spring, but two swallows make Republicans smile. Two pieces of good news are not sulking for a party to which, since the fiasco of the presidential election, many, even within it, announce an assured death.
The first swallow landed on the immigration file. The executive has taken its feet in its projects. Blurring its message by the obsession with a "balanced" display and by prevarications, perhaps not yet finished, on the modalities as much as on the timing of its text. Emmanuel Macron dreamed of taking the hand by forcing LR to pronounce itself in relation to his text. While the government is looking for its way, the party of Eric Ciotti, Bruno Retailleau and Olivier Marleix has taken it by storm by presenting its two bills. It is he now who summons Elisabeth Borne and Gérald Darmanin to pronounce on his version.
