The man who had accused himself Wednesday of the murder of his mother, found slit at the family home in Cergy (Val-d'Oise), was indicted for murder and placed in provisional detention, announced Friday the prosecutor's office of Pontoise.
The accused, born in 1983, presented himself spontaneously at the police station of Cergy Wednesday afternoon, accusing himself of the murder of his mother, and was placed in custody, according to a police source.
The 63-year-old victim was found with his throat slit and died at the family home, located in a residential area of the city, according to firefighters. The context of the homicide is not established at this stage of the investigation, which has been entrusted to the Departmental Security.
