Another intelligence failure for the German intelligence service, the BND: The website of the weekly Der Spiegel reports that the intelligence service gave the German prime ministers its first report on the dramatic internal situation in Russia only at noon on Saturday, after the Wagner force had already taken control of parts of southern Russia and made their way towards the capital Moscow.

The CIA alerted, according to New York Times reports, about the internal crisis in Russia a day before the Wagner rebellion began. According to the Washington Post, the American intelligence services had information about the intention of the commander of the force, Yevgeny Prigozhin, to carry out a violent operation in Russia as early as the middle of the month.
It also emerged that members of the Bundestag participated in a secret discussion about the situation in Ukraine held at the Ministry of Defense in Berlin a day before the events in Russia. According to them, the BND representatives who participated in the discussion did not mention in a single word the possibility of violent action on Russian territory by Prigozhin and his associates.
According to the report, the German intelligence service is not networked in a way that allows it to receive preliminary information about what is happening in Russia. Moscow recently expelled dozens of German representatives from its territory. It was recently revealed that a senior employee of the German intelligence service worked as an agent for the Russian intelligence service and passed on highly sensitive information to Moscow.
