The death of little Fatima, 3 years old, who fell from a balcony of a building in the historic center of Turin on January 13, 2022, was voluntary homicide. And what was established by the assize court, which sentenced the defendant, 35-year-old Mohssine Azhar, to life imprisonment.

Fatima was the daughter of a woman (living in the same apartment building) with whom Azhar had an affair. The defendant has always maintained that the child got out of hand while playing with her on the balcony, while the prosecutor Valentina Sellaroli insisted on the voluntary nature of the gesture.

The man, who that same day had been sentenced by the court to 8 months for a drug case, was angry, altered by alcohol and hashish and probably wanted to punish his partner for her reprimands. "I made it, now Fatima can rest in peace," her mother told those close to her in the courtroom immediately after the sentence.
