Remains of a drug were found Thursday in the body of a one-and-a-half-year-old baby girl - Northern District police arrested her mother. The incident began when the police call center received a report from HaEmek Hospital in Afula about a baby girl who arrived at the scene after suffering from fever and other symptoms.

Tests conducted on the baby at the hospital revealed that there were traces of a suspected drug substance in her body. As soon as the test results were received, the baby's mother was taken out of the hospital without the doctors' approval and later arrested by the Northern District police and the baby was returned to the hospital for further treatment.
In accordance with the police's request, the mother's detention was extended at the Nazareth Magistrate's Court until June 30, 06, and the investigation is in its early stages.
