This tornado and bad weather caused several damages in Milan and its surroundings, says the Italian daily Corriere della Sera. "Firefighters carried out about 110 interventions due to floods, roofs and fallen trees," writes the Lombard newspaper.

Gusts to 200km/h

Other rare weather events affected northern Italy. For example, wind gusts of more than 200km/h were recorded near Bergamo, reports the transalpine daily Il Messaggero. A tree, uprooted by the wind, reportedly hit a car and injured all four people on board.
