In these turbulent times, when the nation is divided and torn in two just before the approval of the reduction of the cause of reasonableness, Maayan Adam sought yesterday (Sunday) to express her firm opinion on the expected changes in the legal system, and did so in her natural field, in a column on the social network Instagram.

In a story she posted against the background of a screenshot documenting the right-wing demonstration held last night in Tel Aviv, she attacked the court and claimed that it was "eroding" the role of the elected government, but also added criticism of the way the reform was carried out.

"There's a stream I belong to that doesn't really get expressed because everything is very black or white," Adam explained. "I strongly believe in reform, I was very much waiting for it, but they poured the baby with the water, and since then everyone who is afraid of it to death has simply been ignored, even though the previous situation is no less dangerous to democracy than the new situation," she said, while also criticizing the coalition's conduct.
"The court has simply eroded the role of the elected government, in small bites that no one notices," she said. "But we've been driving with the Handbrax lifted for years, and the solution is not to unplug the brakes," she concluded, trying to make it clear that an extreme step was certainly unacceptable.
