In accordance with an agreement reached between Transportation Minister Miri Regev and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, an order was signed Monday evening that will prevent the planned 12% increase in public transportation fares. According to the order, there will be no increase in the prices of public transportation, buses, trains and light trains during the coming year.
According to a decision made by the previous government, on July 1, a 12 percent increase was supposed to come into effect, in line with the increase in the transportation inputs index, which consists of the price of fuel, wages, insurance, and other expenses.
