The Ministry of Education has made the final decision to remove the Israeli-Palestinian Bereaved Families Forum from the Ministry of Education's external programs database and LPG system.
In fact, the Forum will no longer be able to carry out educational activities in schools and in the education system, not even with external funding that is not from the Ministry of Education.
Dozens protest Minister Kish: "You do not give due weight to academic research"
About a month ago, as reported in Israel Hayom, the organization was summoned to a hearing at the end of which it was decided, as stated, that the organization would not be able to operate programs within the education system.
According to the reasons for the decision obtained by Israel Hayom, the main reason for the removal of the forum program from the Ministry of Education is the forum's failure to meet threshold conditions recently introduced by Minister Kish. Under the same conditions, contracts with providers of external educational programs will be terminated, whose educational responses include "degradation and humiliation of the IDF, IDF soldiers, fallen IDF soldiers and victims of hostilities," according to the clause.

The Education Ministry's reasons for the decision stated that the forum was unable to deny the allegations made against it, according to which it equates bereavement of fallen IDF soldiers with bereavement of Palestinians killed as a result of military activity. In addition, the Ministry of Education notes the fact that the forum's website states "army of occupation" as a term that harms the IDF and the values of meaningful service promoted by the Ministry of Education in schools.
"Goes against the office line"
"The Ministry of Education, which encourages its graduates to serve meaningfully in the army, in accordance with a state education line, cannot include programs in the LPN basket database that degrade the IDF, its morality and its soldiers and allow the use of the name 'occupation army,'" the Education Ministry's decision document states.
It added: "Any comparison between the bereavement of IDF fallen soldiers and victims of hostilities with bereavement of victims of IDF defensive actions in its defense of the State of Israel is unacceptable and inconsistent with the values promoted by the Ministry of Education, and severely harms IDF fallen soldiers and victims of hostilities."
