Chechnya's ruler, Ramzan Kadyrov, is in hospital in critical condition and unconscious, Ukrainian intelligence spokesman Andriy Yusov said on Friday.
According to the report, Kadyrov suffers from some kind of chronic illness that has worsened significantly recently and is now hospitalized and apparently in a coma. At this stage, there is no official confirmation in Russia or Chechnya of reports and rumors. The situation of Kadyrov, who manages fairly active social network accounts, has surfaced and been refuted many times before.
Ramzan Kadyrov,
Kadyrov was last seen in several videos looking confused and speaking without order or logic. In addition, he has drastically gained weight in the past year and does not appear to be in good health.
Kadyrov has ruled Chechnya, an autonomous republic within the Russian Federation, with an iron fist since 2004 after his father, Ahmet Kadyrov, was assassinated in a stadium bombing in the capital Grozny. Kadyrov waged a large-scale assault on human rights in the autonomous region during his rule, and his militants persecuted his opponents even on the territory of the Russian Federation.
