Highlights: Alarm sirens for the arrival of rockets from Gaza sounded already in the afternoon in Tel Aviv and in central Israel. The Knesset had to adjourn the inaugural session of the winter session. The session began with a speech by Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu. The alarm was also sounded in Jerusalem, where the Israeli army had been deployed to the border with Gaza. The Israeli military said the situation in Gaza was under control and that no rockets had been fired into Israel so far. The alert was in response to a rocket fired from Gaza.
