A tweet starring former Manchester United man Gary Neville, now a popular TV pundit, has been banned by the UK Advertising Authority for breaching rules on the promotion of gambling. The post - which appeared on a Youtube channel - consisted of a clip in which Neville predicted the results of the Premier League matchday, with the logo of Sky Bet, an online betting agency, superimposed. Hence the intervention of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) which censored the clip, as "irresponsible", because it was also aimed at an audience of minors. "Neville is likely to continue to have a strong appeal to under-18s," the AFA explained, recalling the 135,<> underage followers that the former England full-back has on his Instagram and X (the former Twitter) profiles. Hence the censorship intervention, contested by Sky Bet itself, which points out that the clip had been made with tone and content typical of an adult audience.
