Highlights: The U.S. vetoed Brazil's UN Security Council draft calling for "humanitarian pauses" in the conflict between Israel and Hamas to allow humanitarian aid access to the Gaza Strip. The text, unlike the Russian one, which did not pass the vote on Monday, "unequivocally condemns the atrocious terrorist attacks by Hamas", and obtained 12 votes in favor, the US no, and two abstentions, Russia and Great Britain. The draft was approved by 12 votes, with the US and Russia voting no.
