Zilber, 25, from Ramat Gan, is Yael and Itay Zilber's. He served in the reserves as a lieutenant in the 7007th Infantry Battalion of the Harel Brigade, and after liberation went on the largest trip in the world - where the war caught him. He returned after being called up for service after the October 7 terrorist attacks, and fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip this week.

Israel Vilozny, principal of Ahel Shem High School, eulogized the "talented and beloved" Zilber, a graduate of the school. "Yuval is a graduate of the gifted class, outstanding and sociable, surrounded by friends and a social entrepreneur," he said. "Yuval was a leader in the scouts - in the Yarkon tribe, and stood out for his contribution and love for the tribe. At the school, Yuval established a project of teaching adults, and excelled in the LEAD project - a leadership development track. This unique program admits creative and principled students who are involved in all areas of activity in Israeli society."
"Yuval was a central axis in every social activity, was the living spirit on trips and social events, and was very popular with his friends and teachers. His teachers say that he was endowed with exceptional memory ability, creative and original thinking, a high ability to self-learn and no less important - a man of values, social prominence, a sense of humor, kindness and sensitivity to others.
After graduating from high school, Yuval continued for a year of service in Beit She'an. He also excelled in the army, became an officer in the infantry, and was a platoon commander in an infantry battalion. This is a great loss for the entire Ahel Shem community. His smile and kindness will be greatly missed," he added.
