The New York Times reported on Sunday that CIA Director William Burns is currently visiting Israel to discuss the fighting against Hamas with senior members of the intelligence community.
Burns' visit, which parallels the Mossad chief, is the first stop in a series of meetings he is holding in the region, and as part of strengthening intelligence cooperation between Washington and Jerusalem.

According to the report, Burns will deal with the issue of prisoners in Gaza alongside the continued entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. Later, the head of the American intelligence service will visit other countries in the Middle East and hold discussions on the situation in Gaza with his counterparts.
Just a few days ago, US Secretary of State Blinken arrived in Israel for the third time since the beginning of the fighting in Gaza. Alongside President Biden's visit to Israel, the number of senior American officials arriving in Israel is part of a series of measures designed to increase coordination between the countries and the military aid transferred from the United States to Israel.
