During the Corona period, EL AL began its flights to another destination in Thailand beyond Bangkok and that is Phuket. Now, the airline is announcing the suspension of flights to Phuket, apparently due to a drop in demand for direct flights to the destination. Anyone who is supposed to fly with the airline to Phuket has been notified that the flights are being moved to and from Bangkok.
El Al clarifies that it will arrange connecting flights to and from Phuket, for those passengers who were supposed to fly to the destination, but this is another flight that will force those tourists to switch planes and extend the journey. In addition, the journey will take even longer, as El Al does not currently fly over Thailand.

A flight to Phuket, which was supposed to last about nine hours, will now take about 11 and a half hours to Bangkok, passengers will have to wait a certain amount of time (between an hour and a half and two and a half hours) at the airport in Bangkok and from there fly another hour and a half. This means that getting to Phuket becomes more cumbersome and will take about 15 hours instead of about 9 hours in the previous situation.
El Al clarifies that it is possible to purchase the connecting flight from Bangkok to Phuket and back, and the company will reimburse the ticket costs to the company's customers who were supposed to fly with EL AL to and from Phuket and whose flight was transferred to Bangkok.
