Defense Minister Yoav Galant recently completed an assessment of the situation and a Friday dinner with Golani fighters near the Gaza border.

During the assessment of the situation, the Minister of Defense spoke in contact with Golani Brigade Commander Colonel Yair Plai, who leads the brigade's activity in the heart of Gaza. Minister Galant praised the Golani fighters for their activity in Gaza City, and heard from the brigade commander that he and his forces close to Shifa were continuing to mop up the area and eliminate the terrorists.
Gallant told the fighters: "You're doing a great job. We greatly appreciate and appreciate you, but this is not going to end anytime soon. We have a lot of work to do, we go until we finish Hamas and bring our abductees, after that we'll talk."
Galant added, "There are people here who left home, left businesses, left jobs, school. This is a war of no choice. We will find a way how to give everyone their time, how to compensate people, it's a battle for life."
"Not far from here, soldiers and civilians were murdered, we can't afford this thing again. Therefore, Hamas must be erased. The Golani Brigade is doing this very well on the ground," he told the fighters.
