On Friday, November 10, about a month after they were drafted into the war, an IED that exploded in a tunnel shaft killed four reservists from the 551st Brigade in Beit Hanoun. Matan Meir, Yossi Hershkovitz, Sergei Shmerkin and Moshe Leiter were injured and killed in one of the most painful and terrible incidents in an iron sword war.
In the video footage (attached below), it is possible to see and become acquainted with the activities of the 551st Brigade, former commandos and reserve paratroopers, which operated in the heart of the Beit Hanoun area. The fighters encountered and eliminated many terrorists, exposed tunnel shafts and weapons, and among other things, exposed IEDs hidden in a kindergarten.

In a photo taken on October 11 and posted on Facebook, the fighters, each of whom left behind a whole world, can be seen equipped just before they enter the battle.
One came from running a boys' school in Jerusalem (Hershkovitz), another worked in television and was part of the production team of Fauda (Matan Meir), a third got into uniform immediately after the outbreak of the war and reported on his own initiative (Sergei Shmerkin), and the fourth was about to begin an internship in medicine at the age of 39 (Moshe Leiter).
The caption of the photo, which was posted on Facebook, which became an unfortunate farewell photo, reads: "No son was born to stop Israel. The people of Israel are alive!"
In addition to those killed when the IED exploded, some of the people in the photo, their comrades in the unit, were injured in the incident.
