A heavy blow to Real Madrid. Vinicius Jr is expected to be absent for two-and-a-half months after injuring his posterior thigh muscle in Friday night's match between Colombia and Brazil. The Blancos star's injury is more serious than the posterior thigh problem in his other leg that sidelined him for a month between August and September.
"Vinicius has been diagnosed with a tear in his left posterior thigh muscle affecting his tendon," Real Madrid wrote in a statement. "His recovery will be monitored." The player, who has scored six goals and added four assists in all competitions this season, tweeted: "We will come back stronger."

Real also lost midfielder Eduardo Camavinga to injury when the 21-year-old midfielder tore a ligament in his right knee during training with France. Camavinga has played in all of Real's league games this season, joining Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao and Arda Goler on the list of Madrid players suffering from knee injuries. Real are second in the league, two points behind Girona, when they take on Cadiz on Sunday.
