Tamimi, a released prisoner, was arrested earlier this month following incitement she wrote on social media, including a call to murder Jews: "We will slaughter you and you will say that what Hitler did to you was a joke, we will drink your blood."

On the other hand, Nariman Tamimi, Ahed Tamima's mother, denied that her daughter had posted on social networks the inciting remarks attributed to her. In a conversation with Israel Hayom, the mother claimed that Ahed's accounts were blocked and that it was not she who wrote the statements. "Someone wrote it in her name. For a week now, there has been a campaign against Palestinian activists in the West Bank and calls to arrest them," she said. "One of the reasons Ahed was arrested is because she has influence, anything she writes will affect the younger generation."
