France has announced a six-month freeze on the assets of Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, following the massacre on October 7, Agence France-Presse reported on Tuesday.

A document published by the French Interior Ministry states that "all funds or economic resources belonging, under his ownership, held or controlled by Yahya Sinwar, are included under the freeze order." It is unclear how much and what kind of assets most of the terrorists hold in France, but like other senior members of the organization, Sinwar also holds considerable economic power that is maintained in bank accounts abroad.

Since the massacre near the Gaza Strip, several Western countries have announced economic measures against senior Hamas figures, and some countries, such as Germany, have completely banned all activities of the organization or its operatives in their territory.
