Presidents of major U.S. universities have refused to condemn rampant campus anti-Semitism amid the Gaza war and the Oct. 7 massacre during a House Education Committee hearing. The heads of Harvard and MIT refused to answer whether calling for the genocide of the Jewish people violated the code of ethics, answering only "it depends on the context."

Harvard President Claudine Gay, Pennsylvania President Liz Magill and MIT President Sally Kornbluth attended the hearing.

Republican Rep. Alice Stefanik wrote on her X account: "University presidents refuse to condemn calls for the genocide of the Jewish people. This is unacceptable and anti-Semitic – everyone must resign today."

🚨🚨🚨Presidents of @Harvard @MIT and @Penn REFUSE to say whether "calling for the genocide of Jews" is bullying and harassment according to their codes of conduct. Even going so far to say it needs to turn to "action" first. As in committing genocide.
