IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy arrived today (Wednesday) to meet the new recruits to the Nahal and Kfir brigades at the recruitment office in Tel Hashomer. During the complex days of the war, the Chief of Staff sought to encourage and strengthen the new soldiers.
"You are enlisting in the IDF in the midst of a war that will continue for some time, we are in very, very important fighting, you are wearing a uniform on a day when the meaning of defending the country, defending the home, is much, much greater," Halevy said. He went on to describe the activity currently being carried out in Gaza by the Nahal and Kfir brigades: "The two brigades are now, as we speak, fighting in Gaza. Complex combat, built-up area. The Kfir Brigade entered from the eastern part of the Gaza Strip, and it is fighting to the west, the Nahal Brigade entered from the northern part and is now fighting eastward, these two brigades are in very dense, very challenging areas."

"Warriors make decisions there, fight the enemy, harm him, protect each other, try to locate abductees, rescue hostages, listen to these missions are really on the highest level of values you can think of. I see these two brigades, excellent commanders, excellent fighters, and outstanding mission-takers. In order for this thing to continue forward, we need continuity, you are continuity."

And you will be, and you will be unstoppable."
