About six months ago, a settler near Havat Ma'on was attacked by Arab rioters accompanied by extreme left-wing activists who threw a rock at his head and seriously injured him. Despite the serious injury, the police refused to issue a victim of hostilities permit to the settler. Honenu waged a struggle at the end of which the settler was recognized as a victim of hostility by the Ministry of Defense.

During the incident, the Arab attackers threw a rock at the Jewish man's head and he collapsed to the ground while the rioters continued to stone him. Only after soldiers arrived at the scene did the attack stop.
One of the rioters was arrested by the IDF but released, but the police did not arrest other rioters who were present at the incident. Despite the resident's serious injury, the police refrained from issuing him a permit from a victim of hostilities allowing him to receive financial and medical assistance from the National Insurance Institute. Honenu waged a struggle at the end of which the settler was recognized as a victim of hostility by the Ministry of Defense.
Attorney Haim Bleicher of Honenu, an organization representing the settlers, said: "The pioneers of the farms are at the forefront of the settlement and suffer severe violent attacks fueled by anti-Semitic organizations. We welcome the Defense Ministry's recognition of the hostilities and demand full accountability for the terrorists. The police and security forces must not let up until the terrorists are apprehended and brought to justice."
