Since the beginning of the Iron Sword War, about 300 helicopter evacuations of about 600 wounded have been carried out by Israeli Air Force forces and the 669th Rescue Unit, together with an array of assault helicopters, doctors, and paramedics who continue their rescue operations from the Gaza Strip.
In the past week alone, the helicopter crews of the Rescue Helicopter Squadrons, Unit 669 fighters and doctors, together with medical forces and paramedics on the ground, carried out about 60 evacuations of the wounded from the combat zone, while providing advanced and life-saving medical treatment.
The evacuations, which are carried out quickly and under threat from the combat zone, join a total of about 300 helicopter evacuations in which about 600 wounded have been evacuated since the beginning of the fighting. The rescue operations are led by the assistance officers of the Air Force Cooperation Unit, who are responsible for the liaison between the ground and air forces.
