"Gaza will be neither Hamastan nor Fatahstan," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday afternoon, acknowledging that there is a disagreement with the Americans over the "day after" issue. This was against the backdrop of US President Joe Biden's remarks at the lighting of Hanukkah candles last night, saying: "Bibi, I love you, but I don't agree with anything you have to say."
"I very much appreciate the American support for the destruction of Hamas and the return of our abductees," Netanyahu said. "After intensive dialogue with President Biden and his people, we received full backing for the ground incursion and for halting international pressure to stop the war.
"Yes, there are disagreements about 'the day after Hamas' and I hope we will reach an agreement here as well. I want to make my position clear: I will not allow Israel to repeat the mistake of Oslo. I will not allow that after the tremendous
sacrifice of our citizens and fighters, we bring into Gaza those who educate for terrorism, support terrorism, finance terrorism."
